Mài Tāngyuán - KTV

Another Chinese Children's Song with a catchy tune and easy to learn lyrics. Apparently this is a song for the Winter Solstice Festival 冬至 Dōngzhì... I know it is mid summer in China, but it is mid Winter in Oz.

Also this song is a shift away from my usual doom and gloom postings that regularly appear on CML. I am tired of raving and ranting about language learning in Oz.

Mài Tāngyuán Selling Rice Balls

Mài tāngyuán, mài tāngyuán
Selling rice balls, selling rice balls.
Xiǎoèr gē de tāngyuán shì yuán yòu yuán
The sellers rice balls are round.
Yī wǎn tāngyuán mǎn yòu mǎn
One bowl full rice balls.
Sān máo qián ya mǎi yī wǎn
30 cents for a bowl.
Tāngyuán, tāngyuán, mài tāngyuán
Selling rice balls, selling rice balls.
Tāngyuán yīyàng kěyǐ dāng cháfàn
Rice balls can be used as meal as well.
Hēi...yō
Hey...yo ( Yo is used at the end of sentence as exclamation.)
Tāngyuán, tāngyuán, mài tāngyuán
Selling rice balls, selling rice balls.
Tāngyuán yīyàng kěyǐ dāng cháfàn
Rice balls can be used as meal as well.

If you haven't learned this yet another nine versions of this song can be found here 卖 汤圆 Mài Tāngyuán
